The Cork FAI Regional Development Officers organised a Futsal Primary Schools Pilot on Wednesday, 3 December at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa:
The Girls section began with teams representing St: Mary's on the Hill, Scoil Inse Ratha, Scoil Iosagain (Aghada) and Gaelscoil an Teaghlach Naofa taking part:
The Boys from Holy Cross in Mahon, Scoil Barra in Beaumount, St: John Boys from Mayfield and Scoil Inse Ratha followed later in the day:
All the players enjoyed the day and there was some super skills on display as they learned more about Futsal:
There was a surprise in store for the participants when they were visited by City Manager Alan Mathews who spoke of the benefits of Futsal:
He was joined by players Neal Horgan, Denis Behan and Joe Gamble who helped out to the delight of the young players:
The Setanta Sports Cup was also present and proved extremely popular with all the schools:
