Mercy Mounthawk Tralee & Causeway Comprehensive dominate Kerry Futsal Finals

12 boys’ first year teams representing 7 schools took part in the Kerry Post Primary Futsal blitz held in the impressive facility of Mercy Mounthawk School Tralee on Tuesday 9 November.

The teams to top their respective groups were Mercy Mounthawk Tralee, Killarney Community College, Tarbert Comprehensive and Tarberts second squad.

41 goals were scored in the group stages with some exciting matches played throughout with all teams providing great spectacles for all onlookers.

So the final turned out to be Mercy Mounthawk School Tralee and Tarbert Comprehensive.

The final itself was a tight game with plenty of skill on display, as there proved to be very little between the teams with the game finishing on a score of 1-0 in favour of the Tralee side.

GIRLS POST PRIMARY FINALS

4 schools from Kerry took part in the Kerry Girls Post Primary Schools Futsal finals competition on Wednesday, 10 November.

These schools had 6 teams take their place in the group stages.

After the group stages it was Causeway Comprehensive, Castleisland Community College, Mercy Mounthawk Tralee who took the semi final spots.

The final had Causeway Comprehensive (last year’s Munster Champs) take on the newcomers of Castleisland Community College.

This was an excellent game of futsal with the Causeway school going one up just before half time.

Try as they may the Castleisland girls were finding it hard to get back into the game and on the day the Causeway girls came out winners on a score of 3-1.

Causeway Comprehensive now go on to represent Kerry again in the Munster Finals at the Nenagh Arena on Wednesday November 17.
