Football For All | Munster Schools Trials

FAI Regional and International Opportunities for Students who receive special educational assistance

Dear Teacher,

The Republic of Ireland Under 19 Football For All Schools team is one of a number of disability squads supported by the Football Association of Ireland.

To qualify for the team, male players must have been in receipt of special education assistance.

First stage in the trial process

Trials for players from the Munster regionwill be held at Carrigaline Unitd FC on Tuesday, November 19 from 11am to 1.30pm. Please note that we will be using the 3G astroturf pitch so players are requested to bring appropriate footwear i.e. moulds or plastic studs, their own training gear, shin-guards, drink, snack etc.

Interprovincial

This is an opportunity for males in the Republic of Ireland aged 16-18 to play for their regional squad at our Interprovincial tournament which will be held this season at FAI Headquarters in February 2020.

International

The FAI use this Interprovincial tournament as the key recruiting process for the International squad.

The Republic of Ireland Under 19 LD team plays in an annual Home Nations tournament with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We would ask all teachers within the post primary schools system if they are aware of any of their students who would qualify for this squad and have a good standard of football (plays at a good level with club and school) to see if the player is interested in attending regional trials for Munster.

If you have a player interested or have any queries please inform Nick Harrison on 086 047 2051 or email nick.harrison@fai.ie

Yours in Football,

Nick Harrison
