Presentation SS, Kilkenny & Summerhill College, Sligo claim National Futsal titles

PRESENTATION SECONDARY SCHOOL, KILKENNY and SUMMERHILL COLLEGE, SLIGO won their respective FAI Post Primary Schools National Futsal titles following a sterling performance in the magnificent surrounds of Waterford IT Arena, Carriganore last Thursday (December 8).

The Kilkenny ladies had a battle on their hands with runners up Claregalway College in the early stages of competition as well as closely fought wins against Loreto Community School, Milford and Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine, Kenmare to claim the coveted title. This was the first time the Kilkenny ladies secured the silverware and followed a fabulous week for the school having claimed a National volleyball title the previous day.

The Sligo boys overcome some talented sides as they faced St. Francis College, Rochestown, St. Mary’s Diocesan School, Drogheda and Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana to take the title in fine style with five wins and a draw. This is the first time Summerhill College secured top spot having previously came runners up in 2013.
