The Munster Primary Schools Futsal competition will reach a conclusion on Wednesday, 21st January when the Finals will be staged in the impressive University of Limerick: The event will run from 10:30am until 3pm as twelve schools compete for the ultimate prize of Munster Champs:
This is the first year of the Munster pilot programme and it is hoped that the programme will be rolled out nationwide in 2010: The competition caters for boys and girls in 5th and 6th class which delivers a quality fast paced action packed game focusing on skill, speed and technique:
The twelve county winners, 6 girls and 6 boys, have received futsal resources and coaching sessions from their local FAI Regional Development Officer in preparation for the finals:
Cork will be represented by Holy Cross National School, Mahon in the boys’ section while Gaelscoil an Teaghlaigh Naofa will represent the girls:
Scoil Muineachain, Ennistymon will represent Clare in both the boys and girls competitions while CBS Clounalour, Tralee will compete for the Kerry boys and Presentation Convent in Listowel will compete in the girls section:
Limerick will be hoping that Corpus Christi will do well in both the boys and girls section:
Gaelscoil Bhride, Thurles will represent Tipperary boys while the girls section will see Pouldine National School in Moycarkey work their magic in the competition:
Waterford’s Ferrybank National School will compete in the boys section and Bunscoil Ghleann Sidheain of Cappoquin will complete the girls’ selection:
