Another year of schools First Year Futsal in Waterford and another new winner with Waterpark College pulling off a major upset by claiming the school's first ever football title.
Waterpark College would traditionally be renowned for its success in Rugby. However following this success in the futsal court it is hoped that football can now continue to grow in the school under the guidance of Mr Kiely.
Of all the schools that took part, Waterpark were the smallest school and to emerge top of the class on this occasion against schools that have such big football pedigree such as St. Pauls, De La Salle, and Mount Sion was an incredible achievement.
Without doubt in the last three years of the First Year Futsal initiative, this was the closest run event of them all, with all of the schools being very competitive.
6 teams took part representing five schools, namely, St. Pauls Community College A & B, Waterpark College, Abbey Community College, Mount Sion, De La Salle
