A stylish display from Cork outfit Coláiste Éamann Rís dispatched Leinster kingpins Ramsgrange Community School in Dungarvan United FC on Thursday last (September 12).
The Munster starlets are only in the second year of playing girls football but they put in a comprehensive performance with a blistering start to proceedings.
Clodagh MURPHY converted their first within three minutes with a super strike from inside the box to leave Bryson with no chance.
The Cork school doubled their advantage sixty seconds later when Tess McNULTY smashed the ball to the top corner for a super finish from the edge of the box.
Clodagh MURPHY grabbed her second and Cork’s third with a well placed free kick sailing over the Ramsgrange netminders head on 23 minutes.
A fourth was added just before the interval as Captain Lily SEXTON pressed home from close range.
Ramsgrange battled hard throughout the game but just couldn’t get past the Cork defence as Kaci Maguire had little to do.
With nine minutes remaining Faye McNULTY popped up to make it five as her twin sister Tess turned supplier.
While a minute later Tess McNULTY nipped in to extend the lead to six, finishing with a brace.
A great team performance and a delight to watch and the National Cup Final should prove equally as exciting with Glenamaddy Community School the opposition. Details for the Final will be confirmed in due course.
