St: Catherine’s Vocational School, Killybegs v Colaiste Ailigh, Leitir Ceannain
Coláiste Ailigh are through to their first ever FAI Schools Ulster Senior Boys Final:
Next Wednesday, the Letterkenny School will take on St: Catherine’s Vocational School from Killybegs in the “B” decider at the Finn Valley Centre, Ballybofey: The kick/off is 12 noon:
Coláiste Ailigh is one of the smallest secondary schools in Donegal and this is the first Ulster soccer final that it has reached since it was founded 11 years ago:
“This is the first time we have got past the first round, it’s a great achievement to get to the final,” Principal Michael O Guibeon stated:
Interestingly, he was the manager of the Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair side that won the title on two occasions:
The team is managed by Keith Cowan, who has had a number of spells with Finn Harps:
On the way to the final, the Coláiste Ailigh side has overcome Mulroy College, Ballinamore Vocational School and last week triumphed in the semi/final as they defeated Collegiate College of Monaghan 1/0:
These are busy times for the Letterkenny school on the field of play:
Today (Friday) the school’s under/14 side have a Donegal Schools “C” Final against Crana College while the senior team are in action in the Senior Final against Finn Valley College:
