Nominations for Schools Player of the Year announced

The Football Association of Ireland with primary sponsor 3, today announced the nominations for the 21st 3/FAI International Soccer Awards which will take place on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at RTÉ studios, Donnybrook, Dublin 4:

RTÉ will televise the event live on RTÉ Two at 8:00pm:

 

FAI School's International Player of the Year Nominees:

Robbie Benson - Marist College, Athlone

Tomas Boyle - Salesian College, Celbridge

Brian Nolan - St: Paul's Community College, Waterford

TOMAS BOYLE (SALESIAN COLLEGE)

Tomas was capped for FAI Schools in 08/09 and 09/10: Boyle captained the Schools team to capture the Centenary Shield during the 2009/10 season: He is now Stateside on a soccer scholarship:

ROBBIE BENSON (MARIST COLLEGE, ATHLONE)

Robbie was capped for FAI Schools in 08/09 and 09/10: Benson netted the only goal of the game as FAI Schools' beat England 1/0 in Burton to secure the 2010 Centenary Shield title: He was also ever present in the squad during FAI Schools' 5 - 2 victory over Scotland: Benson secured a soccer scholarship with UCD:

BRIAN NOLAN (ST: PAULS COMMUNITY COLLEGE)

Brian was capped for FAI Schools in 08/09 and 09/10: Nolan was featured heavy in the Centenary shield campaign which captured the Shield away to defeating Champions England last season in Burton Albion: The youngster is now completing a business degree in Waterford IT:
