YOUR SCHOOL CAN NOW PLEDGE THEIR CONTRIBUTION OF €2,000 TO PELE WITHIN THE COMING MONTHS and still be in with a chance of meeting the legend on 26 November in Ballymun:::
ISSUED ON BEHALF OF THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF IRELAND:
My name is Don Mullan and I am the European Ambassador for the Pelé Little Prince Hospital, Brazil, and a project called “Pelé’s – Goals for Life” Campaign: I have been working closely with the Football Association of Ireland regarding a unique event to be staged in Ballymun, Dublin, in November and I would like to invite your school to participate:
Legendary footballer, Pelé, widely acclaimed as the greatest player of all time has agreed to attend an event at Trinity Comprehensive School, Ballymun, Dublin 9 on November 26th in order to raise funds for vital medical research into children’s illnesses at the Little Prince Children’s Hospital, Curitiba, Brazil: Pelé will also be using his visit to Dublin to raise much needed funds on behalf of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin:
The “Goals For Life” campaign is centred on the 1,283 goals Pelé scored during his career which have now become a vehicle to generate funding for life saving medical research:
With the cooperation of the Brazilian mint, a boxed set featuring commemorative gold, silver and bronze medals have been produced and individually laser marked to commemorate each one of Pelé’s goals: The sets are unique in that only 1,283 boxed sets have been created worldwide and consequently, they are currently valued by collectors at approximately €1,800 each: You can view the commemorative medals and see more details of the programme at www:golspelavida:org:br
On behalf of Pelé, I would like to invite your school to become part of Pelé’s fundraising team:
By becoming part of Pelé’s team your school can pledge to raise €2,000 in the coming months for the Little Prince hospital, and as a result of your commitment your school will receive a valuable reward - Pelé will welcome representatives of your school to join him at the “Goals for Life” event in Ballymun and personally present a school representative with a set of the valuable limited edition medals which you can keep as a souvenir or use for your own school or charity fundraising initiative: Two pupils and one each of their parents will also be invited to represent the school at the event and witness Pelé’s address to Irish school children:
As part of the overall project celebration, schools participating in the project are also invited to participate in the inaugural “Pelé – Goals for Life” Cup indoor football competition (U14) at Trinity Comprehensive School, Ballymun on Wednesday November 18th: This competition will be limited to the first 32 schools signing up to the project and the two teams qualifying for the final will play for the Pelé – Goals for Life Cup on the 26th November in Ballymun , The Pelé Cup will be personally presented by Pele himself to the winning team on the day:
This is a truly unique opportunity to join forces with a living legend and raise cash for a most worthwhile cause: Irish schools will be the first in the world to join Pelé’s “Goals for Life” project and their cooperation will receive significant media attention in Brazil: It is also worth noting that the success of the Ballymun event itself will result in that event becoming a vehicle to raise money for our very own Our Lady’s children’s hospital in Crumlin through a number of initiatives currently being developed:
You may already have been involved in fundraising projects previously and may be aware that they can take the form of Supermarket bag packing, non uniform days, football marathons, sponsored walks or any creative idea you may devise: However, with time running short before the big event, we would kindly ask that you consider your fundraising event sooner rather than later in order that you can reserve your school’s place at Pelé’s Ballymun event:
On behalf of Pelé, I very much look forward to welcoming you to the “Goals for Life” team and I’m sure that by participating, your school will become part of a memorable event on 26th November:
