Goals Galore for Gillen

UMBRO FAI Schools Minor Boys (U14) National Semi Final

St. Eunan’s College, Letterkenny 2-1 Summerhill College, Sligo

St. Eunan’s came from behind to secure a place in the Final when they defeated Sligo’s Summerhill College in Kingspan Century Park, Monaghan today (30 April).

The game came alive late in the first half when striker Michael Casey slotted past Sean Patton to put the Sligo men ahead.

The Ulster Champions had no response to the stylish football being played in the first half but responded well in the second half.

Michael Sanni was causing problems on the wing for the Summerhill defenders. His hard work was rewarded when James Gillen connected well to a pass in the centre and made no mistake from close range.

The match looked to be going to extra time as the game edged into injury time. However young Gillen was to be the surprise savour when his shot from 20 yards sneaked past Kevin Kelly to ensure the advancement of the Letterkenny lads to an All Ireland Final.
