In accordance with UEFA criteria the Football Association of Ireland have amended their age categories to ensure a standardised approach for all countries competing in International football:

Dr: Tony O’Neill Cup - John Murphy Cup - Senior & Senior ‘B’ Girls Cup – born on or after the 1st of January 1993 (U19)
Junior Cup – born on or after the 1st of January 1995 (U17)
Minor Cup – born on or after the 1st of January 1997 (U15)
First Year – born on or after the 1st of January 1998 (U14)
The Boys’ Interprovincial Tournament: Player’s dates of birth will remain the same as with previous years; at 1st of August 1993; in accordance with the SAFIB competitions (Internationals at U18 level)
Girls Interprovincial Tournament: players must be born on or after January 1st 1997:
