National Launch of the FAI Schools Futsal Programme

The Football Association of Ireland are delighted to announce Franciscan College, Gormanston as the official host venue for the Schools futsal competition this year:

The events will cater for boys and girls in Primary and Post Primary education with over 10,000 participants expected to take part this year: The Primary Schools competition will cater for 3rd and 4th class students nationwide while the Post Primary Schools competition will be open to First Year students:

This mutually beneficial relationship is now in its third year as Franciscan College will play host to the Meath Primary Schools Finals over three days (November 12 to 14), while the Meath Post Primary Schools Finals will be held on November 15: The Post Primary Schools Provincial decider in Leinster will be held in the impressive facility on November 28:

The Post Primary Futsal competition will reach a climax on December 5 in the impressive venue as they play host to the All Ireland Finals: For more information on the competitions please contact the FAI Schools National Administrative Officer, Diane Fay on 086/0404952

The FAI’s futsal competition have quickly become one of the most popular sections of the schools soccer calendar, with talented students from all over the country aspiring to replicate the talents of Lionel Messi, Zico, Juninio, Kaka and Ronaldo: These legends of the football world have inspired youngsters to get involved and in doing so have increased the profile of futsal on an International scale:

The competition offers students the opportunity to participate in a fun filled event with the emphasis on improvisation, creativity, technique as well as ball control and passing in confined spaces:
