Fresh from his goalscoring performance in Aviva Stadium last week, Republic of Ireland and Norwich City star Wes Hoolahan was on hand to launch Aviva health insurance as the new title sponsor of the FAI Primary School 5’s with the help of pupils from St: Oliver Plunkett’s National School in Malahide, County Dublin today:
Aviva Health FAI Primary School 5’s will see over 16,000 children from 1,000 primary schools throughout Ireland compete in the competition this year: A brand new addition to the tournament in 2013 will see primary school children given the opportunity to compete in Aviva Stadium, as it will host the National Finals on Saturday, 25 May:
Speaking today Republic of Ireland star Wes Hoolahan said; “Every player dreams of playing one day in the Aviva Stadium so thanks to Aviva, for this, is a unique opportunity for boys and girls across the country to represent their school, their county and their province in the All/Ireland finals at the home of Irish soccer:”
Announcing Aviva Health’s sponsorship of what is the biggest competition on the primary schools soccer calendar, Liz Rowen, Head of Marketing at Aviva Health Insurance said; ‘We are incredibly proud to sponsor this competition and open Aviva Stadium up to Irish families, many of whom are Aviva health customers: As a mother of two young girls and working in health insurance, I am acutely aware of the importance exercise and team sport plays in keeping young children healthy: We hope the Aviva Health FAI Primary School 5’s will contribute to our long/term strategy of improving the health of our children in Ireland and future generations’:
The National Finals at Aviva Stadium on Saturday, May 25, will be a family fun day focused on providing participants and spectators alike with huge excitement and entertainment in order to make it a day to remember for all involved: Welcoming Aviva Health on board as title sponsor for 2013, Mr Sean Carr, Chairman of FAI Schools, said: ‘The numbers participating in this competition are phenomenal with the standard of football improving each year: We are excited about our new partnership with Aviva Health Insurance, who are an ideal sponsor for this competition, and we look forward to working with them to increase the profile of primary school football going forward:’
The Aviva Health FAI Primary School 5’s will run across five divisions to suit all schools sides: Boys and girls are encouraged to play on the same team together, a number of teams can represent one school depending on the size of their student body which gives more children the chance to develop their skills in a safe, child/centred and exciting environment:
The announcement of today’s sponsorship deal sees the expansion of Aviva’s partnership with the football family: At present, Aviva support the FAI Club of the Month and the Soccer Sisters programme:
