The 29th ‘Three’ FAI International Football Awards will take place on Sunday, March 17 at the RTÉ Studios, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
FAI Schools will have three players in attendance with Liam KERRIGAN (St. Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurry, Sligo), Ali REGBHA (Chanel College, Coolock, Dublin) and Rory DOYLE (St. Francis College, Rochestown, Cork) up for nomination for the prestigious FAI Schools award.
Liam KERRIGAN
A past pupil of St. Attracta’s Community School in Tubbercurry, Kerrigan had an excellent season for the Republic of Ireland Schools. His impressive performances in the green jersey saw him notching up a goal against Scotland as the team went on to capture the Centenary Shield title that night in Home Farm FC. Liam is currently enjoying his football at Sligo Rovers.
Ali REGBHA
Ali was a key player for the Schools select last season. The Coolock pupil enjoyed a Player of the Match performance against England in Luton Town as he was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet that evening. The youngster netted a brace against Scotland to ensure a 3-1 victory over the Scots and ultimately secure the title following a three year absence. Regbha is back playing for Bohemian FC.
Rory DOYLE
St. Francis College scholar, Doyle impressed for School and Country with numerous accolades to his credit. His hard work and dedication ensured him a starting position in all four competitive fixtures and he was a dominating force in the title success of the students last year. Rory now applies his trade with Cork City having previously starred with College Corinthians.
Previous winners include Stephen Ward (Portmarnock Community School), Robbie Benson (Marist College, Athlone), Alan Browne (Nagle Community College, Mahon), Seán Maguire (CBS Kilkenny), Ryan Manning (Yeats College, Galway) and most recently Neil Farrugia (St. Andrew’s College, Blackrock). We wish the three players and their families the very best of luck on the night.
