THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND U15 SCHOOLS development squad will kick off their Bob Docherty campaign against Wales at Shaws Bridge, Belfast this afternoon, Monday, April 1 (4:30pm):
The tournament will be held over four competitive days as host Nation and current holders Northern Ireland face England in their opening game:
Republic of Ireland Manager Richelle O’Neill (Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore) is enjoying her third year with the squad and is well prepared for the challenges that face her: The squad will see two notable recruitments making a return namely Roma McLaughlin (Moville Community College) and Eleanor Ryan Doyle (St: Joseph’s College, Lucan)
Unfortunately for O’Neill the squad will be without the services of Courtney Higgins (Colaiste Dhulaigh School, Coolock) as she recovers from a shoulder injury: This means a late call up for Lucan pupil Nimmy Cheamaou who will relish the opportunity of representing her country:
Wales will prove difficult opponents and should be a good test for O’Neill’s crew as they look to upset the odds in Belfast with the North going for an historic three in a row this season:
