Galway Schools to play at Aviva Stadium in Aviva Health FAI Primary School 5’s Finals
Two Galway primary schools secured their places to play at the Aviva Stadium in the National Finals of the Aviva Health Primary School 5’s: Maree NS and St: Patrick’s NS will both take to the Aviva Stadium pitch on the 28th May after they won in the Connacht Finals last Wednesday in Shiven Rovers AFC in Galway:
20 schools, with a total of 160 participants, from Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon were competing across 5 sections for a chance to qualify for the National Finals as Connacht champions:
Maree NS were the winners in Section B as they defeated Gaelscoil, Westport in the Final: St: Patrick’s NS defeated their namesakes St: Patrick’s from Castlebar in the Section C Final to secure their place at the Aviva Stadium at the end of the month: The other teams that qualified from Connacht were Lisaniskey NS and Summerhill NS from Roscommon and Newport NS from Mayo:
The winners each received an Aviva Health FAI Schools commemorative shield along with a free Umbro kit and a Connacht Champions trophy for their school: They will now go on to represent Connacht against representatives from Munster, Ulster and Leinster in their section as they hope to be crowned All Ireland Aviva Health Primary School 5’s Champions for 2014 at the home of Irish football:
This year’s Aviva Health Primary School 5’s competition has seen more than 17,000 children from 950 schools compete across the country since March: The Munster regional winners will meet the winners from other Provinces at Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 28th May to decide the 2014 overall winners:
