The FAI are delighted to announce Franciscan College, Gormanston as the official host venue for the Schools futsal competition this year. The events will cater for boys and girls in Primary and Post Primary education with over 10,000 participants expected to take part this year. The Primary Schools competition will cater for 3rd and 4th class students nationwide while the Post Primary Schools competition will be open to First Year students. Franciscan College will play host to the Meath Primary Schools Finals from 2-5 November while the All Ireland Post Primary Schools Finals will be held on the 7 December in the impressive venue. Principal of Franciscan College, Mr. Dermot Lavin stated “Franciscan College Gormanston is delighted to work in partnership with the FAI in promoting soccer and participation in sport. The College is equipped with fantastic facilities and we are fully committed to working in partnership with all our stakeholders to ensure that children and young people of all ages benefit from sport and active participation”. On behalf of the FAI, Mr. Packie Bonner, Technical Director said “we are delighted with the success of the competition which is now in its third year. The competition will be enhanced by the involvement of a top class facility like Gormanston College. The facility will enable all boys and girls to enjoy playing futsal in this excellent environment. We see this as the start of an ongoing relationship for the benefit of everyone involved”.
The College will host an open evening on Thursday evening the 21st October from 5pm - 7pm. This is a chance for prospective parents and students to visit the school and see for themselves the excellent facilities on offer, the commitment from all the staff and the high academic standards with the focus on students reaching their goals and achieving their academic potential.
