EA Sports FAI Schools 5 A Side in Cavan

36 Primary Schools throughout County Cavan competed for the opportunity to represent their county at the Ulster Finals:::
The County Cavan EA Sports FAI Schools Primary Schools 5 A Side took place last Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 April at Cootehill Harps FC:            

36 Schools entered with 93 teams participating in total: All games were played on 7 small sided pitches:

The A Section for small sized schools in both categories (Boys and Girls) was played on Wednesday with 42 Boys Teams and 25 Girls Teams taking part:

Butlersbridge A (Ulster winners in 07) beat St: Mary’s Arva A in the Boys Final and Killygarry defeated St: Mary’s Drung in the Girls Final:

The B Section for medium sized schools in both categories (Boys and Girls) took place on Thursday with 15 Boys teams and 10 Girls teams participating:

St: Mary’s Virginia A completed the double in this section with the Boys A team defeating Farnham A in the Boys final and the Virginia Girls matched their class mates success by defeating St: Clare’s Cavan in the Girls final:

St: Felim’s of Cavan were the only School to enter the C Section targeted at large sized schools and as a result will represent Cavan in the Ulster Finals:

Tom Mohan Development Officer for Cavan thanked all Schools for taking part over the 2 days and wished the winning teams the best of luck in the Ulster Finals which take place at Kingspan Century Park  Monaghan United on Wednesday 20th May:

He also thanked the Referees, Cootehill Harps FC for the preparation work and use of  facilities, Sporting Youths and Ballyjamesduff for supplying goals and Cavan Institute of Further Education for supplying Referees for Thursdays games:
