FAI Schools Post Primary Schools Futsal in Inishowen
The Inishowen section of the FAI Schools First Year Futsal competition for boys and girls was held in Maginn Park, Buncrana on Wednesday the 3rd of November with the winners progressing to the Ulster Finals on the 16th of November in Carrickmacross:
This was the second year of this competition with all games being played in a very sporting manner and with a high level of ability:
The girls section was dominated by Moville who won all their games by a convincing manner:
They will be looking forward to the Ulster Finals when they will be looking to improve on their performance last year:
Crana College was unfortunate this year to meet such a strong team in Moville as they finished a strong second in the group:
Carn Community School and Scoil Mhuire although finishing 2/2 in their game to pick up their only point showed a lot of ability and character throughout the competition:

The boys section was no less exciting with last years winners Scoil Mhuire emerging victorious again:
The Futsal game gives players opportunities to express themselves and there was no shortage of talent on display during the matches: All schools showed that they have enough ability to challenge each other and with individuals scoring match changing goals in the final minutes of each game the results were always in doubt:
Scoil Mhuire will be delighted to come out of this very tough group as it will be great preparation for the Ulster Finals:
FAI Development Officer Stephen McNutt who organized the competition was delighted with the standard of both sections: He thanked Maginn Park for the use of their facilities and he also thanked the teachers of all the schools involved for supporting the competition:
