Patrician High School Carrickmacross & Moville Community College were crowned Ulster Champions on Tuesday, 16 November: Schools representing Donegal, Inishowen, Cavan and Monaghan took part as their respective County winners, with both boys and girls competitions being held:
The boys competition was a keenly contested event with the Monaghan school recording victories over Breifne College (Cavan) 3/1, St Eunan’s College (Letterkenny)1/0 and Scoil Mhuire (Buncrana) 1/0:
A great team effort by all involved with some fine individual displays on show; was much to the delight of manager Colm McEveaney:
The School will now go forward to represent Ulster at the All Ireland Finals to be held in Gormanstown on December 7th:
Inishowen winners Moville Community College claimed the girl’s title with wins over St Louis Girls (Monaghan) 6/2, Breifne College (Cavan) 5/0 and drawing with Loreto College (Letterkenny) 1/1 to win the competition from their Donegal rivals on goal difference who also had victories over their Monaghan and Cavan counterparts:
The girl’s event also proved to be a hugely entertaining and sporting affair with some fine individual displays also on show:
