Breifne College Cavan Complete the Double in First Year Futsal

The Cavan Post Primary Schools First Year Futsal blitz for boys and girls took place on Friday 5^th November 2010 in Breifne College, Cavan:

There were 8 teams participating on the day, with 4 boys and 4 girls teams involved

The boy’s competition consisted of 1 group of 4 teams – The Royal School Cavan, Breifne College Cavan, St: Bricins Belturbet and Bawnboy:

In a very exciting round of games Breifne College, The Royal and new comers St: Bricin’s Belturbet finished level on points, with Breifne and St: Bricin’s equal on a superior goal difference to The Royal:

The excitement when calculating the goal difference was equal to the excitement throughout the competition and a huge home cheer went up after it was confirmed that Breifne came out on top having scored more goals:

The girls competition also consisted of 1 group of 4 teams - The Royal School Cavan, Breifne College Cavan, St, Bricin’s Belturbet and Bailieborough:

The girls section also came down to the wire with Breifne and Bailieborough playing the final game in the group to decide the winner:

With Bailieborough looking for 2 in a row after winning last year’s final and Breifne looking to complete the boys and girls double on the day, it was the Breifne girls who came out on top in an end to end final game to seal the double:

So congratulations to all teams who participated in a very sporting manner and thanks to Breifne College for hosting the competition once again and Shane Reavy who was referee for the day:
