20 schools from Donegal, Inishowen, Monaghan and Cavan participated in the Provincial decider with all to play for:

The ‘A’ Section was extremely competitive: Ronan Donnelly’s crew had a great opening campaign for Mullahoran with a 3/2 win over Ballybay’s Mullaghrafferty NS: The Cavan boys were made to work against Lifford’s Scoil Mhuire but took full points with a 1/0 win to set them up in good stead: Cloontagh defeated Scoil Mhuire 3/0 in their first outing: The penultimate game against Mullaghrafferty went in favour of the Inishowen contingency taking the points with a 4/1 score line: The final game between Cloontagh NS of Inishowen and Cavan qualifiers Mullahoran NS was the ultimate decider: The game was a tense affair with Mullahoran advancing 2/0 in an end to end encounter:

The ‘B’ Section for medium schools saw both Carndonagh NS, Inishowen and St: Patrick’s NS, Lurgybrack share points as they dispensed of Butlersbridge and Latton’s Scoil Mhuire: The head to head between the Inishowen and Donegal boys ended 2/2 so game difference came into play: Carndonagh took the honours and now advance to the National Finals on Saturday, May 25:

The ‘C’ Section for large schools went to last season’s Champions Scoil Iosagain, Buncrana with Jonathan Adair and Maria Doherty relishing the challenge of an appearance at the Aviva Stadium: The Buncrana team have a wonderful history in this competition and their experience showed with John Timlin and Aaron McDaid leading the charge:

Another experienced outfit lifted the Girls ‘A’ Section as last year’s Ulster stars Scoil Mhuire, Glenties captured the crown: Teacher John McCann was delighted with the result and is looking forward to the Aviva challenge next Saturday: The school had Bronagh Gallagher, Shana Quinn, Danielle McDevitt, Niamh O’Donnell, Orlagh McGuinness and Amy Boyle Carr all return from twelve months previous: Newcomers Niamh Agnew and Sophie Connaughton are impressive with a great team dynamic working in their favour: The girls were extremely strong for their competitors and will prove one’s to watch out for in the All Ireland series:

Newcomers Scoil Naomh Fionán, Whitecastle advanced to the National Finals in the Girls ‘B’ Section having secured the points with Gaelscoil Adhamhain, Donegal taking runners up spot: Whitecastle notched up 27 goals in three games, only conceding four times: A powerful performance from the Quigley’s Point girls! Can Clare Byrne’s squad continue on winning ways when they enter the Aviva on Saturday?

Mr: Cathal Sheridan, Business Development Manager, Aviva Health Insurance was in attendance to present the winning teams with their respective medals and Cups:

Thanks to the support of Aviva Health, the competition will reach a sensational conclusion for the Schools involved as the National Finals will take place in the magnificent surrounds of the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on Saturday, May 25: The event will be a family fun day focused on providing participants and spectators alike with huge excitement and entertainment, making it a day to remember for all involved:
