The Ballymun Area Primary Schools Futsal tournament kicked off on Monday 24thNovember at 10am:
Five schools entered the prestigious competition which was organised by FAI Development Officer Jamie Wilson:
The tournament got under way with St: Vincent's and Scoil Mobhi being the early pacesetters:
Some good football and quality goals were scored by all teams most notably by Virgin Mary boys who scored 2 superb goals by lobbing the keeper from over 30 yards:
It all came down to the last game, Holy Child BNS were sitting at the top of the table from their 3/2 win over Scoil Mobhi anxiously hoping that St: Vincent's would drop points:
A 3/1 win over Gaelscoil Cholmcille meant that St: Vincent's were the worthy champions and left the rest of us looking on with admiration:
Gealscoil Cholmcille prop up the table but it wasn’t for the lack of trying, as they fought for every ball:
The tournament was a fantastic demonstration of fair play and the players showed great character throughout the competition:
The final table:
1st / St: Vincents 9pts
2nd / Holy Child 7pts
