The Louth Primary Schools Futsal Finals took place in the JJB Centre, Dundalk today (3 November):
The event was well attended and organised by the FAI’s Development Officer, Mick Neville:
Congratulations to the Girls from Bellurgan who won a great final by the narrowest of margins: The final score was a nail/biting 2/1 which saw St Oliver Plunkett’s of Blackrock come a gallant second:
Bellurgan had a difficult task in claiming the Girls section after a hotly contested final game: It was only settled in the final minute of the game when Bellurgan scored a cracking goal that clinched the title for them:
Mick was delighted with the standard of football all round and the competition was so close that there was very little between all the teams that participated in the event:
The Boys Final was between St Oliver Plunketts and Ardee Educate Together:
St Oliver’s hit the ground running and ran out worthy winners on a score line of 5/1:
Ardee will take all the plaudits as it was the first time in the schools history that the school reached a Final, a great achievement for the hard work and dedication of the team:
Mick would like to thank all the schools and teams that took part and don’t forget to get involved in the National 5 A Side competition which will take place next year: (FAI Schools EA Sports 5 A Side)
