Dundalk Grammar School 3/0 O’Carolan College, Nobber
Dundalk Grammar School defeated Nobber’s O'Carolan College with a hat/trick of goals today in a windswept Oriel Park, Dundalk:
Playing into the wind in the first half it was a battle for either team to play football but with chances limited both teams were relatively happy to go into the interval deadlocked:
The second half saw Dundalk Grammar playing with the wind and opportunities began to mount:
Their cause was helped by Nobber having a player sent off for a late challenge:
Goals from strikers David McMahon and Josh Arrowsmith and one from winger Gavin McClelland was enough to clinch the title for Dundalk Grammar School: It was the first FAI Schools title at this age category for the school which was evident when the final whistle was blown:
